Opening the Door

i have opened the door

i have opened the door this morning for the first time in weeks. it is a back opening to a world where birds sing where wind swishes leaves against one another, where a school bus delivering quarantine lunches beeps its horn calling eaters who have lost track of delivery time or forgotten in the lockdown that it was Monday once again.

a screen keeps out insects and flies and some of the fear while letting in breeze, air filtered through branches and soft green. it is good to be alive afterall.
